I am an amateur photographer and blogger based in the Chiltern Hills in England. I collect and process personal data to allow me to operate and optimise this website, and to respond to visitors who post comments or contact me.

How I collect and process your data
Website visitors

Comments
If you submit a comment, you may provide your name and email address. I will retain these details to allow me to respond to your comment. I also collect your IP address and browser details to help prevent spam, in accordance with my legitimate interests in operating and protecting my website.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be shared with the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Contacting me
If you send me a message through the contact form, those details will be emailed to me in plain text. You should therefore not include any sensitive information. I will collect the details you enter (which may include your name, email address and comment) as well as your IP address in order to help prevent spam. This is in accordance with my legitimate business interests in operating my website and responding to those who contact me.
Mailing list
I use MailChimp to manage my mailing list. I have chosen MailChimp because they operate to the highest standards of privacy. If you sign up to my mailing list you will need to supply your email address, and you may also supply your name and other details. These details will be kept by MailChimp and used in accordance with their Privacy Notice, which you can see here. I will only use these details for sending out email updates relating to my photography and website. Your details will not be sold to third parties and you can unsubscribe at any time by following the instructions in the emails you receive.
Third parties
I may share the data I collect with certain third parties who provide services that help me run this website. For example, the website is hosted on a server provided by a third party data centre, and data that relates to Google Analytics may be shared with Google.
I will also share your data with third parties where I am legally obliged to do so, or (in exceptional cases) where it is in the substantial public interest.
I will never share your details for purposes not set out in this Privacy Notice and I will never sell your details to third parties.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files saved on your computer to record settings, preferences and identifiers relating to websites that you visit.
